The deadline for 2-page abstracts (+ 1 page for references, no appendices) describing system demonstrations and/or ongoing projects relevant to the topics of SemDial 2021 (PotsDial) is August 20th. Please see the CFP below.

SemDial 2021 - PotsDial

THE 25th WORKSHOP ON THE SEMANTICS AND PRAGMATICS OF DIALOGUE

20-22 September, University of Potsdam, Potsdam, Germany & Online

PotsDial will be the 25th edition of the SemDial workshop series, which aims to bring together researchers working on the semantics and pragmatics of dialogue in fields such as formal semantics and pragmatics, computational linguistics, artificial intelligence, philosophy, psychology, and neuroscience. In 2021 the workshop will be hosted by the Department of Linguistics at the University of Potsdam, Germany. (If the pandemic situation allows for it, there will be a local component for those who want to travel to Potsdam, but fully remote participation, including presentation, will be possible. Please see the website for updates closer to the date.)

Submission is now open for late-breaking system demonstrations and ongoing project descriptions, to be presented in a poster session during the workshop. Late-breaking submissions will not be refereed, but evaluated for relevance only by the programme committee chairs.

The deadline for receipt of late-breaking submissions is Friday, August 20th, 2021, at 23:59 UTC-11.

SCOPE:

We invite posters / demo / late-breaking news on all topics related to the semantics and pragmatics of dialogue, including, but not limited to:

·        the dynamics of agents' information states in dialogue

·        common ground/mutual belief

·        goals, intentions and commitments in communication

·        turn-taking and interaction control

·        semantic/pragmatic interpretation in dialogue

·        dialogue and discourse structure

·        categorisation of dialogue phenomena in corpora

·        child-adult interaction

·        the psycholinguistics of dialogue

·        language learning through dialogue

·        gesture, gaze, and intonational meaning in communication

·        multimodal and multi-party dialogue

·        conversation analysis applied to human/agent interaction

·        interpretation and reasoning in spoken dialogue systems

·        designing and evaluating dialogue systems

POSTER ABSTRACT SUBMISSIONS:

Authors should submit a non-anonymized paper of at most 2 pages of content (up to 1 additional page allowed for references, no appendices).

Submissions will be reviewed for relevance for the conference by the programme committee chairs.
