Proactive systems present unique challenges in human-computer interaction
(HCI), including designing for user autonomy, ensuring trust, and
developing tailored evaluation metrics. These systems aim to anticipate
user needs, prompting action before explicit requests. The BEHAVE AI
Workshop seeks to advance proactive HCI by uniting researchers and
practitioners to share insights and establish standardized methodologies
for improving human-AI interactions.

The workshop aims to:

Identify challenges in designing proactive AI systems.

Share best practices for design and evaluation of proactive systems.

Develop metrics and methods for evaluating proactive human-AI
interaction.

By fostering a diverse and multidisciplinary community, we aim to shape the
future of human-centric AI design and evaluation.

Call for Papers

We encourage submissions addressing, but not limited to, the following
topics:

Central challenges in human-centric design of proactive AI agents.

Balancing autonomy and user control in proactive systems.

Evaluating proactive AI’s impact on user experience, trust, and control.

Case studies on proactive AI implementations across various domains.

Suitable timing and context for proactive interactions and autonomous
task execution.

Ethical considerations and social implications of proactive AI.

Submissions must follow the CEUR guidelines and will undergo a peer-review
process based on originality, significance, technical soundness, clarity,
and relevance to workshop topics.
