Proposal Deadline:

The Conference on Information and Knowledge Management (CIKM) provides a
unique venue for industry and academia to present and discuss
state-of-the-art research on artificial intelligence, search and discovery,
data mining, and database systems, all at a single conference. CIKM is
uniquely situated to highlight technologies and insights that materialize
the big-data and artificial-intelligence vision of the future. CIKM 2022
will be held between Oct 17-22, 2022, in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
We call for technical talks which will cover how knowledge management,
information retrieval, recommender systems, and data mining are used in an
industrial setting. For example, how machine learning is put to use in
practical scenarios, how user behavior can be observed, and used, to
improve systems in practice, how industrial pipelines can be optimized, and
how scale is a challenge in more ways than the obvious.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Innovative approaches used in deployed systems and products.
- We also encourage talk proposals from small companies, especially
startups or spin-offs from either a university project or a large company.
- System design case-studies from industry practitioners, identifying
best practices and design principles for learning systems, scalability
aspects
- Talks discussing domain specific challenges are also welcome.
- Metrics and measurement techniques used at scale to understand
performance of industrial systems
- Talks creating a connection with academia to solve interesting
problems, including talk proposals from academics spending time in
industry, or vice-versa, covering insights for other practitioners
Talks may address challenges, solutions, and case studies of interesting
and innovative systems, and ideas in areas pertaining to above topics..
Industry authors are invited to submit talk proposals. Industry-academia
talk proposals are eligible. The authors of accepted proposals will be
invited to submit a 2-pages camera ready paper.
Each presentation will be 20-30 minutes long including Q&A. Submissions
should include:
- Title and abstract
- Speaker's bio
- Relevancy to above themes and CIKM topics
- (optional, but strongly recommended) Links to video of previous
technical talks given by the speaker. In case no such recordings exist, we
encourage the speaker to make a recording of a part of the proposed talk
for the purpose of this submission.
- CIKM is a technical conference, so preference will be given to talks
describing applied research and technical challenges rather than product
presentations.
Submission instructions
Proposals should be at most 2 pages and follow the ACM format. Formatting
guidelines are available at the ACM Website (use the ˮsigconf” proceedings
template). https://www.acm.org/publications/proceedings-template
Submissions are not anonymous and should contain speaker details. Proposals
should be submitted electronically via EasyChair:
