Motivation
Workshops provide a forum for community members to discuss common
interests in a focused way. If you are working in an emerging area of
Intelligent Virtual Agents (IVA), consider organising a workshop. They
are a chance to meet like-minded researchers and discover what others
are doing. A workshop is an excellent opportunity for young researchers
to present their work and receive feedback from an interested community.
Successful workshops can lead to edited books or special issues in
international journals.

Tutorials are intended to provide a high-quality learning experience to
participants with a varied range of backgrounds. It is expected that
tutorials are self-contained.

IVA2024 is looking for exciting proposals for half-day or full-day
workshops/tutorials to be held on 19 September 2024, the last day of the
conference. Each workshop/tutorial should generate discussions that
provide the IVA community with a new, organised way of thinking about
the topic, or ideas that suggest promising directions for future
research. A successful workshop/tutorial can move the field forward and
help build the community. Researchers and practitioners from the wider
IVA community are invited to submit proposals for consideration.

Review Criteria, Responsibilities, and Publishing
Workshop/tutorial proposals will be reviewed confidentially. Acceptance
will be decided by the IVA2024 Workshop and Programme Chairs. Decisions
are final.
The following criteria will guide the review process: relevance to IVA,
interest to the audience, quality and organisation. Proposals  should
have one or more organizers and an international program committee.

Organisers of accepted workshops are expected to:

  • Define, produce and distribute the workshop call for papers.

  • Collect and review submissions and decide on the final programme

content.

  • Ensure that workshop participants are informed of the need to

register for the workshop.

  • Set up and maintain a website, linked to the official IVA

website, containing information about the workshop, the workshop
materials (presentations, if any) and a summary of the workshop
outcomes.

  • Plan, participate and coordinate your entire workshop.

Important: At least one organiser must register for IVA2024 early.
